As we all know Thugs of Hindostan has not made any profit at box office. Now theater owner has demanded for the refund from the makers. According to today’s news exhibitors are asking for compensation.

Yash Raj Films has produced the movie Thugs of Hindostan with estimated budget of 300 crore. This movie was first to be released on Diwali but delayed after critics thrashed it in their reviews.

After releasing of movie it has collected 150 crore in 11 days. Theatre owners are losing 50% of investment in movie and so they are asking for refund. The exhibitors agreed to the minimum-guarantee deal as they expected handsome profits from the big-budget film, but the tables have turned. As thatre owner are hoping that YRF, Amitabh Bachchan and Amir Khan would help them in this problem. There is also possibility of few theatres to be shut down.

In past, actors Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Rajinikanth have compensated distributors after their films failed to do well at the box office. The movies were Jab Harry Met Sejal and Dilwale, Tubelight, Lingaa.

As Thugs of Hindostan was the biggest opener film who has crossed 50 crore mark on the first day. The film had advance booking of Rs 52.25 crore. But on the second day there was decrease in earning because of reviews and reaction of the audience who watched the movie.
