Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India is celebrating his 68th birthday today. This personality has begun changing the India tremendously. For some, changes are positive and for some extremely negative. Still, he is the godfather for many families in India.

Narendra Damodardas Modi also known as Narendra Modi born on 17th September 1950 in Gujarat. an Indian politician serving as the 14th and current Prime Minister. As a child, he helped his father run a tea stall and later opened his own in Gujarat.
After his graduation, he left his home for the reason that the marriage was arranged by his parents at the age of 13 and they wanted him to settle in married life. As he was already married, he stayed in married life for a while and grew apart as he started travelling and visiting Hindu ashrams. He kept his marriage a secret to be a pracharak in Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh. The purpose to keep his marriage secret was completely professional but he acknowledged his wife on filing his nomination for a parliamentary seat in 2014 general elections.
In 1970, Modi moved from Gujarat to Ahmedabad and in 1971 became the full-time worker for RSS. In 1975, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi declared a state of emergency in India which lasted till 1977. During the emergency state, the Modi asked to hide to avoid the arrest. He was the one who arranged the safe houses for individuals as per government demand and helped in raising funds for political refugees. Through that time, he wrote book on Gujarat roits, as Sangarash Ma Gujarat.
In 1978, he became the RSS sambhag pracharak overseeing the activities in Surat and Gujarat. The RSS appointed him in BJP in 1985 and held several position within hierarchy until 2001. In 2001, Modi appointed as the Chief Minister of Gujarat due to Kesubhai Patel failing health and public image as CM during earthquake in Bhuj. Modi was in controversy for his national beliefs and his role during 2002 Gujarat riots.
As CM, Modi favoured privatization and small government which was against the philosophy of RSS. Being CM, he developed Gujarat vibrantly during 2007.
During 2012 campaign, he attempted to identify himself with state of Gujarat, as a strategy similar to Indira Gandhi during the state of emergency and protected himself against prosecution by the rest of India.
In September 2013, Modi named as the BJP’s candidate in the 2014 Lok Sabha election. Though, several BJP leaders opposed his candidature including BJP founding member.
But this time, the BJP won 31% of the vote. Thus, this is more than doubled its tally in the Lok Sabha to 282. This became the first party to win majority of seats.
On 26th May 2014 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan he sworn. Thus, became the Prime Minister after India’s Independence from the British Empire.
