Mac Miller- A Famous Rapper and Producer left the world on Friday

An American rapper and producer, Mac Miller found dead on Friday, 7th September. He found dead at his San Fernando Valley home, due to overdose of drug. The rapper real name is Malcolm James McCormick, reached the heights of fame after topping his US charts in year 2011.

He released his latest record, Swimming, earlier this year and scheduled to go on tour.

“Mac was a bright light in this world for his family, friends, and fans,” his family said in a statement. He was born in January 19,1992 in Pittsburgh. His Father is a Photographer and mother is an architect. From his school days, he focused on his hip hop career. As a kid, he liked to play all games but as he got to know that Hip Hop is a job. He started following his passion leading to this way.


Mac Miller started rapping at the age of 14 and was earlier knows as EZ Mac. Then, he changed his name to Mac Miller. He has released his first mixtape But My Mackin’ Ain’t Easy in 2007 at the age of 15. Many other tapes were released by him before signing Rostrum Records in 2010 where he collaborated with Wiz Khalifa.

Blue Slide Park debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 2011 with first week sales of 144,000 copies on November ,2011. Latest in May 2018 he has released “Smaller Word” from his “swimming” album.

Miller addicted to a drug know as “Purple drank” usually taken to be stress free. He had started drinking so much that it was difficult for him to stop. But surprisingly,  he quit taking promethazine in November 2012, before he started the shooting of his reality show, Mac Miller and the Most Dope Family.


Singer Ariana Grande and Miller had  two year of relationship which ended in May 2018. She Tweeted once  “I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be,”. In the same month, Miller was arrested because of hitting the light pole of San Fernando Valley. Also, he was under the charges of hit and run.

Rappers and musicians paid tribute to Miller on Friday, shortly after news of his death broke.
