The cable car project between Bhawan and Bhairav Ghati at the Mata Vaishno Devi is inaugurated by the governor of Jammu and Kashmir Sh. Satya Pal Malik on 24 December.
After the inauguration the cable car was opened for the pilgrims. With the cable car the journey to the Bhairav ghati is will be much easier for the peoples who are coming for the darshan at Mata Vaishno Devi.
The journey to the Bhairav Ghati becomes difficult for some devotees as the yatra becomes a little steep over there and according to the peoples belief that without the darshan of Bhairav mandir the yatra is incomplete.
The inauguration was aso attended by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Simrandeep Singh, chief secretary Mr BVR Subrahmanyum and many other officials.
In the ceremony the governor of Jammu and Kashmir Sh. Satya Pal Malik congratulated the shrine board and other peoples associated with this project and said “I hope the pilgrims enjoy the cable car ride. I want to congratulate you all for the successful completion of the project. We must also develop an effective rescue plan in case there’s a mishap.”
Devotees welcomes the opening of cable car and said the yatra will become much easier with this. One of the pilgrims said that “We are very excited to board the cable car. We no longer have to climb the hill to reach Bhairav Ghati. We are grateful to the shrine board for coming up with this project”
The project of cable car costs around INR 850 crore by an association of Swiss company Garaventa Lift and India Company Damodar Ropeway and it is completed in around one year of hard work. The cable car coach are imported from Switzerland.
The shrine board also said that a similar project from Banganga to Bhawan might also come up in near future.
